Earth & Sun Construction has been building homes and additions since 1980. At that time solar credits were available in New Mexico. There were many classes and seminars pertaining to solar building. During the early years of our company we did many passive solar additions to homes.

These additions were mostly adobe. Adobe is very labor intense, thus we became interested in Rammed Earth. Over the past few years we have invested in soil mixing machines, conveyor belts, forms and other devices to improve the quality of our walls. An engineer has performed many tests and comparisons to ensure that we have a uniform mixture. Lab tests indicate that the compressive strength of our walls is two times greater than the minimum required by the UBC (Uniform Building Codes). Our clients receive a copy of the lab test results taken from their home to ensure they are informed and receiving the best structure possible. We specialize in Rammed Earth construction, but we also build frame/stucco, adobe homes, and do custom alterations to existing homes. About the builder

Although Gary is a full-time builder, he does have a life. Married to Kim since 1986, he has 2 daughters, Megan and Kaitlyn.

Gary has been involved with the volunteer fire department since 1993 and served as the chief for 8 years.

On the weekends he explores Southern New Mexico on his ATV. His family, dog included, will do day trips but overnighters are spent with his friends. He also enjoys flyfishing, catch and release of course.
